This was a hit when I was in high school; I was never a boxing fan so I never paid much attention to Muhammad Ali, but I listened to American Top 40 every week, so I knew this song by heart. Still do; music is funny that way.

As is mentioned in the YouTube comments, this is "wonderfully creepy." I'm glad I'm not the only person who always thought the lyrics to Every Breath You Take were being told from the point of view of a stalker.



Back in 2001, several of us who listened and supported WBAI radio were "vigilers" outside the station in the wake of the "Christmas Coup." I sometimes brought my euphonium, and rewrote some Christmas carols in a minor key, calling them "Christmas Coup Carols." It was weirdly appropriate.
