Today the rain was pissing down, as they say in England; Jerry, being a water dog, didn't seem to mind it at all, except that every awning we passed under, he sprang up to catch the drips. "That's why they call him a springer," I remarked to passers-by.

So I took him home and toweled him off; naturally, he wanted to play tug with the towel. Silly dog!
