Okay, I just noticed something on the book cover.

Based on Jacqueline Suzann's #1 Best-seller

'Based on'??? What the hell does that mean? Did they... dumb it down? Truncate it? Modernize it? Change the storyline?

When I see the words 'based on', I instantly think 'reasonable facsimile', but it's not the original. I read the original way back when, and I thought it was pretty damn good, so why mess with it?

...Or is this a DVD cover, which would explain everything?
