It's like a ghost town
Jul. 3rd, 2007 08:09 amI love holiday weekends, especially when they fall in the middle of the week; the city empties out and it's like a ghost town. Being that the 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, the city started emptying out last weekend.
Naturally, I never leave the city on holidays; I never have anywhere to go. New York is the center of the world, which is why I came here in the first place. I first came here in 1980 and have refused to leave. Well, I was forced to leave in 1981 and spend two years with my parents in Connecticut, which gave me added motivation to come back in 1983.
Also, if I traveled, I'd have to hire a dogwalker, which would suck.
