Just got home...

after spending all day walking dogs and taking my dog to the vet clinic to have his stomach pumped, and I find out Art Clokey died. Say it ain't so!

Gumby was a huge influence on me in the 60s; I watched a lot of TV when I was a kid, and Gumby was one of my favorite shows. When there was a resurgence of Gumby in the 80s, I was at Limelight one night and saw them playing a tape of old Gumby cartoons on the TV behind the bar; I was transfixed!

I had to take Corky to the über-expensive Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists after I discovered he'd eaten this [Saturday] morning a quantity of unsweetened cocoa powder. Bad, bad news...I got on the phone; tried to get my regular vet, who is supposed to have office hours on Saturday mornings—but he wasn't in—but ended up with Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists, open 24 hours for emergencies. I'm going to have to get some activated charcoal to have around the house for his next episode, because that's basically what they used. (It shouldn't have to cost me $900 every time he eats something!)

I'd write more, but I have to get up early in the morning; today I OD'd on adrenaline.
