[Error: unknown template qotd]I used to listen to WBAI radio here in New York back in the late 80s/early 90s. It was common for a producer of a show to have to announce before the show: "This program may contain frank language, and if you're likely to be offended, we suggest you tune away for an hour or two."

One evening, when they were taking calls on such a show, I called and asked, "Who's Frank Language and why is he offensive?" And so Frank Language was born.
