Well, the power went down about half an hour ago; we're here listening to NPR in the dark.

I hear the Hudson came up over its banks at 23rd street and covered the streets up to 10th avenue in a foot or two of water.

Naturally we're out of kerosene for the lantern; it may have evaporated.

We made it through, but still have no net at home so I'm sitting in a coffee bar that has Wi-fi right now. One of our windows blew out, so we had to dismantle my drafting table and use that to patch it. Still, we were extremely lucky and are doing great right now. All our pets are doing well too, and considering we still don't have heat, I'm enjoying having my two bed warmers (a.k.a. "cats") sleep with me.

As I said in a different post, I'll update with pix as soon as I can.
