40 micrograms in a gallon. So if a young child drank a little more than a gallon of milk per day they would show preliminary signs of overdose. That means an adult two or three times the weight of a child would need to drink two or three times more. Shocking.

Seems to me that if you have to drink 3 gallons of something intentionally fortified with a nutrient scarce in normal diets to become sick, it's a nonissue.

Almost everyone could use more D3 in their diet, not less.

Too much of most any vitamin can poison you. Accutane, the acne medication is made from a modified vitamin A molecule so that you can take massive doses without destroying your kidneys.

Considering that D3 comes from rancid fish oil, I sure as hell don't want it in my diet.

My point was that D3 is good for you. If D3 magically had a vegan source, Mr. Cohen wouldn't criticize it as rat poison even though it still would be. He's just a shill.

It should also be mentioned that the vegan ergocalciferol (D2) is way cheaper than D3 so often that's what ends up in milk, even though it barely works as a supplement.

Then why is it a controlled substance in Canada?

You should stop getting your info from NotMilk. It's a "controlled substance" when used in cosmetics.

Actually...

I know it's illegal to sell it in Canada because I had to ship a package of it over there and had difficulty doing so. I did not get this information from NotMilk.

Oh, customs laws. Do you remember my post about how toys not made entirely of wood and artificial plants are also controlled substances? Even if you can't ship it TO canada, you can go there and buy it at the store.

Anyone who claims vitamin D is bad for you is just grinding an axe.
